Climate of Pokhara

Pokhara is vulnerable to floods due to a high amount of precipitation and the Seti Gandaki River flowing through the city.

Although the city experiences a subtropical climate, the elevation keeps temperatures moderate. Summers are humid and mild with average temperatures between 25 °C/77 °F and 35 °C/95 °F. Most precipitation occurs during the summer monsoon season (June–September).

Winter temperatures average around −2 °C/28 °F to 15 °C/59 °F. Snowfall is not observed at the valley floor, but surrounding hills experience occasional snowfall in winter.

Pokhara and nearby areas receive a high amount of precipitation. For example, at 40 km/24.9 mi from Pokhara city center, Lumle receives the highest amount of rainfall in the country (over 5,600 mm/220.5" annually).

In winter and spring, skies are generally clear and sunny.[Source]
